Unity Test
UNITY ™ test is a simple blood test that is safe, accurate and affordable for all pregnant women. The only cell-free DNA test that screens the baby’s risk for:
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Sickle Cell
- Alpha Thalassemia
- Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
We sequence small fragments of your baby’s DNA that made its way from the placenta into your bloodstream. The test is safe for you and your baby as blood is drawn from your arm.
The UNITY™ is the only test that screens mother and child for conditions like Cystic Fibrosis, Sickle Cell, Alpha Thalassemia and Spinal muscular Atrophy with a single tube of blood.
Using patented technology, only UNITY™ can assess your baby’s risk for recessively inherited conditions and your baby’s Rh type.
With the UNITY™ you can also screen your pregnancy for conditions like Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edward Syndrome (Trisomy 18), Patau Syndrome (Trisomy 13) and gender of your baby if you chose to know. The UNITY™ has a 98 % accuracy for chromosomal abnormalities screening.
Nifty Test
The NIFTY® test is a non-invasive prenatal test (commonly termed an NIPT) that screens for Down syndrome and certain other genetic conditions caused by extra or missing genetic information in the baby’s DNA. It’s important to note that all NIPTs like NIFTY®, are screening tests and are not classified as diagnostic. This means that they are not 100% accurate and that ‘false positive’ or ‘false negative’ results can very rarely occur.
NIFTY® consists of a small maternal blood draw and is available from as early as week 10 of pregnancy. Results are available within 10 working days.
NIFTY® offers higher rates of accuracy than traditional screening tests and, unlike invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, poses no miscarriage risk to the mother or baby.
NIFTY® screens for the three most common trisomy conditions present at birth which are Down syndrome, Edwards Syndrome and Patau Syndrome.
